The remote-controlled multi-leaf smoke exhaust outlet (also called the electric multi-leaf smoke outlet) comes in several forms: multi-leaf smoke outlet, remote-controlled multi-leaf smoke outlet, remote-controlled multi-leaf fire/smoke outlet, and multi-leaf fire/smoke outlet. Different forms suit different locations and serve different purposes.
Installation positions
Fit the outlet on the wall of the stair pressurisation lobby, on the smoke exhaust shaft wall, on the side of the smoke exhaust duct, at the duct end, or on the exhaust system of a windowless room. It stays normally closed. On a fire, the smoke detector sends an alarm; the control centre energises the actuator at DC24V and the outlet opens quickly to exhaust smoke. It can also be opened by remote manual control and reset manually. Electric and manual opening give low noise, low power draw, a wide efficient range, easier fitting than a centrifugal fan, and reliable running. The compact build and simple mounting make it dependable.
Under normal conditions the louvres hang by their own weight and seal off indoor–outdoor air exchange. When indoor pressure exceeds outdoor pressure, the airflow blows the louvres open and exhausts outwards. When indoor pressure is lower, airflow cannot flow back indoors. A common supply-air outlet has a one-way check function.
Functions and features
The outlet stays normally closed, opens by electric or manual action, and sends an open signal. It resets and closes manually. At 280°C the thermal sensor actuates and the valve closes again. A thin profile shrinks the operator box and increases the effective exhaust area.
Main technical parameters: operating voltage/current DC24V/0.5A; leakage ≤290 m³/m²·h at 700 Pa (1000 Pa differential); thermal sensor trip 280°C.
Main parts: body, blade, bushing, thin actuator, grille panel. For dimension B ≥800, fit two actuators. Rectangular sizes (A×B×L): 400×400×150 to 2000×1250×150.
Performance: a DC24V±2.4V signal opens the outlet; remote manual open; remote manual reset; open-signal output; can interlock with other equipment on request.
