Purification-Type Direct Expansion Air Handling Unit

Cleanroom DX air handling unit: efficient heat exchange, very low leakage, multi-stage filtration and optional UV/ozone sterilization for pharma, healthcare and electronics.

Overview

The purification-type direct expansion (DX) air handling unit is a new generation of cleanroom-grade equipment developed for industries such as biopharmaceuticals, electronics and healthcare, where controlled environments are critical. It merges central air conditioning with cleanroom engineering to deliver reliable, energy-efficient conditioning.

Key Design Features

  • High-efficiency hydrophilic corrugated fin heat exchangers with mechanically expanded inner-grooved copper tubes for superior heat transfer.
  • Direct-drive scroll-free fans balanced to G4.0 with vibration isolators, AMCA-certified for low noise and smooth operation; IP55, class-F motors with optional explosion-proof or VFD versions.
  • Double-skin steel panels with stainless inner skin and 48 kg/m³ polyurethane insulation, mounted on a patented cold-bridge-free aluminum frame.
  • Leakage rate as low as 0.21% at 1000 Pa, far below international requirements; 50 mm panels withstand 2300 Pa.

Control and Filtration

The unit is managed by DDC/PLC controllers and driven by a fully hermetic scroll compressor for wide operating range and strong liquid-slug resistance. A multi-stage filtration train (pre, medium, sub-HEPA, HEPA) with differential-pressure gauges and alarms meets every cleanroom class. Optional UV and ozone sterilization effectively suppress microbial growth.

Applications

These units serve hospital operating rooms, pharmaceutical, biotech, electronics, food and precision-instrument manufacturing where clean air is essential.
