Modular Air-Handling Units: Function Sections of Constant Temp-Humidity Units

Modular AHUs combine sections — mixing, filtration, coils, humidification, fan, recovery and desiccant wheel — to control temperature, humidity and cleanliness in pharma, food and electronics.

Mixing and Filtration

The mixing section blends fresh and return air via manual or motorised dampers. Filtration spans three stages — pre, medium and HEPA — where the HEPA stage reaches 99.99% efficiency for clean rooms from class 100 to 300,000.

Cooling, Heating and Humidification

  • Coil section cools and dehumidifies, and can heat with hot water in winter
  • Hot-coil section dries and warms the air; electric heat serves sites without steam
  • Humidification offers electrode, steam, spray or wet-film options

Spray, Fan and Service Sections

The spray section humidifies, dusts and cools. The fan section uses double-inlet centrifugal fans with a VFD for stepless, energy-saving airflow. An intermediate section eases maintenance, while the eliminator prevents water carryover and the silencer cuts noise by 10–20 dB(A).

Recovery and Desiccation

  • Heat-recovery section reclaims energy from exhaust air, saving power
  • Desiccant wheel gives dry, chemical-free dehumidification with sterilising and deodorising effect
  • Ideal for pharma, food, biotech and electronics production
