Installation Methods for Modular Air Handling Units

Modular AHU installation begins with checking the packing list, sections and a level base. Assemble tightly, use water seals for spray and coil drainage, then pass an air-leakage test for safe operation.

Pre-Installation Checks

  • Verify the packing list, separate units by system, and never mix models with different specs.
  • Inspect each functional section, pipe orientations, coil row counts and fin density against documentation.
  • Confirm fan and motor parameters, airflow direction, and check for damaged panels or bent fins.
  • Build a concrete base with level error under 5 mm and size it 100 mm larger than the unit on each side.

Assembly Steps

Align the base coordinates and level, then assemble sections square and tightly. For units with a spray section, install it first from the pump base, then build outward; its doors must not leak. For coil sections, keep the condensate drain clear and fit a water seal to block air leakage. Where the fan ships separately, set the empty casing first, then load fan and motor. Connections use bolted closed-cell rubber or clip joints per the manual.

Final Verification

Field-assembled units must pass an air-leakage test to confirm sealing and safe operation.
