FP-238 fan coil unit: rated parameters and operating limits

Lists the rated airflow, capacity, power and noise of the FP-238 fan coil unit, plus its water, power and environmental limits, and the operating ranges that keep the unit reliable.

The FP-238 fan coil unit is detailed below by its main parameters.

Rated airflow: 2380 m³/h.

Rated cooling capacity: 12.9 kW (11094 kcal/h).

Rated heating capacity: 20.2 kW (17370 kcal/h).

Input power: 12 Pa (223 W), 30 Pa (241 W), 50 Pa (286 W).

Noise, dB(A): 12 Pa (48), 30 Pa (51), 50 Pa (54).

Water flow: 2230 kg/h.

Water pressure loss: 26 kPa.

Fan count: 4.

Weight: 52 kg standard, 58 kg in the flight-case type.

Water connections: 20 mm internal thread.

Condensate drain: 20 mm external thread.

Power supply: 220 V / 50 Hz.

Supplementary notes:

1. Cooling duty conditions: inlet dry-bulb 27°C, wet-bulb 19.5°C, inlet water 7°C, water temperature difference 5°C.

2. Heating duty conditions: inlet dry-bulb 21°C, inlet water 60°C, hot water flow equal to the cooling flow.

3. After a 2.0 MPa pressure test, the maximum allowable working pressure is 1.6 MPa.

4. The unit offers four control configurations.

What are the environmental requirements for a fan coil unit?

1. The inlet and chilled water temperature must not fall below 5°C, or the unit may condense. The inlet and hot water temperature must not exceed 80°C (normally 60°C), or the copper tubes of the heat exchanger may corrode.

2. Recommended ambient range: 16–36°C for cooling; 10–30°C for heating; relative humidity ≤ 90%.

3. The fan coil unit is for comfort cooling only, not for special environments.

4. Do not install the unit where corrosive gases are present.
