Fourteen Operating Rules to Extend Direct-Expansion Cleanroom AC Life

To prolong a direct-expansion cleanroom AC, use rated power, avoid opening doors, never modify it, keep vents clear, ground properly, and follow dry-cloth cleaning with regular servicing.

Safe Power and Environment

Direct-expansion constant-temperature constant-humidity cleanroom units are precision machines. Supply power within the rated range and never energize before wiring is finished, to avoid shock or malfunction. The unit is non-explosion-proof, so keep it away from flammable or explosive atmospheres.

During Operation

  • Avoid opening the chamber door; high temperatures can hurt operators and cold can ice the evaporator. If opening is unavoidable, take protection.
  • Never disassemble, modify or rebuild the unit yourself โ€” risk of shock or fire.
  • Keep ventilation openings clear to prevent failure and fire.
  • Do not use a unit found damaged or deformed on unpacking.
  • Prevent dust, wire clippings and metal chips from entering during installation.

Electrical and Maintenance

  • Wire correctly and ground reliably; poor grounding causes shock and measurement errors.
  • Check terminal screws and brackets; never run loose.
  • Keep the power terminal cover on while running.
  • Consider safety before changing settings or starting/stopping; wrong moves damage the unit.
  • Clean with a dry cloth; no alcohol or gasoline, no water splash. If soaked, stop at once.
  • Parts have a lifespan โ€” service regularly and scrap as industrial waste.
